Introductory course on the Physics of Heavy Ion Collisions and the description of quark and hadronic matter at high temperature and gluon density, given in a series of 5 lectures:
1. QCD at high temperature and gluon density: key results from RHIC and issues for LHC.
2. Survey of results from RHIC experimental program and future.
3. High pt physics and jet production, RHIC results, uncertainties and LHC prospects.
4. ATLAS heavy ion program.
5. Low-x physics at LHC, future electron-ion collider, future LHeC
